The valiant Defenders of Ukraine

First off welcome to the forums!

I totally agree that Putin Cannot be compared to Hitler. Social media loves to compare everyone to Hitler, call everyone Nazi’s and all this does is shutdown the conversation.

Is Putin a bad guy? I think he is. He seems to place little value on human life, even Russian ones. He is a strong man seeking glory by restoring the Soviet Union. He wants to own Ukraine and doesn’t care if it’s a smoking ruin.

No, Putin hates the Soviet Union of Socialist Republics. He dreams about a Greater Russia where everybody will understand that beeing “A Russian” is the goal to Greatness.

I recommend this Australian youtubers analysis of the political situation to your attention:

Probably, should have said restoring the borders of the Soviet Union. He expands Russian borders wherever he can. No wonder his neighbors join NATO.

Perun is amazing, it’s an honour to be treated so respectfully by a US three-star general. Congrats alll round.

Cyberclowns and Russian interference in German cybersecurity. For a comedian I don’t find him very funny but his (and teams) research work is excellent.

It is in German so either get a translator subtitler app or a learn German in 24 hours (lame jokes are cool and are not targets of cybertheft). I mean Defcon 1 and gameboy jokes, is that an allusion to the 1980s?

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from our buddy Dejan. I wonder if he signed up as a volunteer for the Z forces. They could use all the manpower they can get.

Indeed, well hope he does well and even more that he moderated his views a little. Well maybe  he gave up because he couldn’t convince people.

Well the Russian (fake German) cybersecurity Company in Germany and I guess other places shows that the easy to buy off useful idiots are still among us.

He wants to get back to the 1914 border. He likens himself more to Tsarist Russia not the Soviet Union.

I do not know which borders he wants. I think: His fantasy Russia is a mix of Tsarist Russia and the world power of the USSR with its vassal states.

When he took the first part of Ukraine in 2014 the response in the rest of the world was pretty weak so he thought he could get away with more.
I do not think many thought it would have been this hard for Russia to beat down Ukraine .
If it had gone the way he dreamed of he would very likely have gone on to “liberate” more countries from their own people

I don’t think he would attack a NATO country. He might be waiting for his buddy DJT to return.

You know, that gets kinda old. How much of Ukraine did Putin seize between 2016 and 2020? That would be none. During this time was Nordstream 2 finished? No it was sanctioned and no work was done.

NATO didn’t like him because he called them on their shit and lip service to military preparedness. Who warned Europe about dependence on Russian energy?

Well see the UN speech of 2018 and the reaction of the German delegation in 2018. Bohmermann calls them the Putin puppets. To be fair the average German is not a fan anymore of ex-chancellor and now rich Schröder or Merkel who was inexplicably naive or just plain stupid towards Putin. (Although I still commend Merkel for her daring refugee policy)

See vid here of Trump warning Germany against Putin.

See also 21.51 at the UN speech and the reaction. In spite of the framing of him and his Jewish family their view on the Russian threat made sense. 2018 was AFTER the invasion of the Ukraine/Crimea edition so the we never knew Putin was bad argument is still valid?

Thank you for posting these. I truly admire the man’s willingness to take unpopular stands. An incredibly flawed man but he had effective policies.

I love how at the UN, as you pointed out, the German delegation was laughing and smiling when he said Germany was being dependent on Russian energy. I doubt they are smiling now and I feel for the European citizens who are facing horrendous energy prices if they can get it. We were all so short sighted. I am not saying they were bad politicians but they didn’t think this could happen I guess.

I don’t understand our end game still. We have given so much to Ukraine to do what? Be free or be dead? I only partly trust Zelensky maybe as much as I trust Biden. I don’t know how this ends because I cant see Russia leaving without burning it all down. The more Ukraine fights and wins the more I think we will end in a really bad place. If Russia gives up and goes home, Putin is finished and so probably is Russia as a power. They won’t let that happen.

I get scared because I don’t see a peace with honor. What is Ukraine willing to give up for peace? We can force a peace by cutting off all weapon shipments. Why is NATO prolonging this war?

Yes we can cut off the weapon shipments to Ukraine and condemn them all to lose , how much honor would be in that.
A lot of Ukrainian would still die and Russia would rebuild their militairy.
They would not go after any Nato country but there are still some old Soviet countries that then would be the next target ( Estonia , Latvia , Lithuania , Moldavia).

I do not think there is any easy way out of this and I do not hear anything about any talks between Russia and Ukraine.
Russia already stole part of Ukraine in 2014 and as a result of this they came back to take more.
How much should Ukraine give up and how long would it take Putin to go back and demand more?

The big orange? Really? His most important policy is racism, nothing else. Don’t get why you’re defending a fascist cunt.

It’s also false that this was an unpopular stance. The US concern with European energy dependence from Russia is as old as the early days of the cold war. Some presidents may have been more vocal with it than others, but it has been standard US policy towards Europe for decades now. The big orange loved to act ‘tough’ on the world stage, but at the same time cozied up to many authoritharian leaders. Let’s also not forget it were the Russians who helped hirm win the elections in the first case. They wouldn’t have done that because he was actually going to be harsh on Russia.

Yes, Germany has a history of being apologetic with Russia and being ignorant of the risks. The gas deals with Russia should never have been made, but getting high on cheap fossil fuels was easier than facing the harsh reality of actual energy transformation. That especially Ukraine would suffer from this soft stance on Russia was very clear as far back as the opening of Nord Stream 1. Germany has ignored this on purpose, but a fascist from Florida should be the last person to tell them about it.

Did anybody ask this to the US when Pearl Harbor was bombed? No, they went to go and fight and declared they would only accept unconditional surrender. Ukraine’s terms are very clear, get out of our country and leave us alone. If you don’t accept, we’re willing to fight until you do.

Had America decided to leave Japan at it and forgive them for Pearl Harbor, then much less americans would have died and Japan wouldn’t have gotten nuked, but then again, you weren’t going to let Pearl Harbor slide would you?

Sorry to say aside from Moldavia the three Baltic states are full NATO members which is why all three have NATO forces stationed in their respective countries. And yes that Pisses off Putin to no end because he wants those three back but he can’t touch them without engaging the full NATO alliance.

It has taken me awhile to source these numbers and they are reflective of what the Russian propaganda machine is telling their populace. This is all from the Russian ministry of defence statistics which was not easy for me to source

According to the Russian military

-over 70,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and over 200,000 Ukrainian wounded which is in essence the Ukrainian militaries regular force size
-over 2,000 Ukrainian tanks destroyed or captured, over 5,000 other armoured vehicles destroyed or captured which again is almost the entire tank core and half the Ukrainian armoured vehicles in the military damaged or destroyed.
-100 helicopters and 150 attack aircraft of the Ukrainian armed forces have been destroyed which is more than what Ukraine actual has
-over 50 HIMARs have been destroyed by Russian forces. To date not one HIMARs has been lost due to combat and there is 18 HIMARs listed as being in country atm.
-Ukraine has lost every piece of artillery sent by its allies as it has all been destroyed by precision strikes of the Russian military

According to the Russian military Ukraine is on its last legs and is critically short on ammunition, weapons, supplies and suffers extreme low morale.

Russian losses according to Russia

-just under 6000 killed only 4,000 wounded
-less than 500 tanks and armoured vehicles destroyed
-have lost 11 helicopters and 9 fighter aircraft to combat.

According to the Russian Defence ministry the Russian military is well armed, well trained, has extreme high morale and has no shortage of personnel.

Okay , I did not know they were Nato.
Before The Russian attack on Ukraine most people I know were more of the opinion that Nato was a relic of the cold war that was no longer needed, the major dangers would be terrorists or internal right wing extremist and Nato does not help there.
How wrong we were.
