Army officers ordered to train understudies

Washington (UP) –
Army officers occupying key positions will be required to train assistants or “understudies” able to assume the duties of these officers at any time, according to an order issued by Chief of Staff General George C. Marshall.

Commanders of every echelon will see that subordinates are given frequent opportunity to perform the duties of higher positions.
