This topic is somewhat obscure, but I want to talk about Honecker’s early activities after joining the German Communist Party. What specifically would he have been doing in the Saarland when he moved there? Did he offer to collaborate with the Nazis once imprisoned? Why wasn’t he sent to the camps?

As a kid in the 80s and as someone who followed the situation in East Germany (especially East Berlin), hearing that name, Honecker, made me go something like this.

This is when Homer replaces Smithers for a bit. As a kid in the 90’s, I watched The Simpsons repeatedly. I believe they do reference Honecker in the episode where the Germans buy the Power Plant.
