Yes men in the wehrmacht and waffen SS?

Hello, did both had that phenomenon where one would report only the good news to the higher up and minimize the bad news? Maybe this kind of stuff might’ve influenced hitler badly in his decision later in the war since he couldn’t have a realistic view of what’s going on (even less since clouded by his ideology).
Thanks for your answers!

Hello. I have thought about this for two days and keep coming back to the scene from the great movie downfall. Hitler meeting with his generals nearly surrounded in Berlin who calmly announces that Steiner’s attack will restore the situation. The generals tell him that Steiner didn’t attack because he didn’t have the forces too, well the result has been in 1000’s of parodies.

I am sure that Hitler had yes men around him but I don’t think it was quite the way you stated. Hitler seemed obsessed with maps and plans and had a very good memory. I think they brought him good information but when he made increasingly irrational decisions they said yes and issued the orders even though they probably would fail. It seemed to me that Hitler assumed his units on paper should be as strong in 1945 as they were in 1941. And anyone who tried to tell him differently started him down a path towards ranting about how his troops were cowards or this or that General was not doing what he should.

So I feel that Hitler was extremely well informed of the war situation but was living in his own fantasy land where his genius would save them and little things like the actual conditions of his army didn’t matter. And here the yes men would not try to change his mind.
