In 1945 there were plans to enlarge Mongolia with territories with Mongolian inhabitants liberated from Japan. I have read about that in the book ‘Mongolia in the twentieth century’. Chang Kai-Shek avoided that by signing an agreement with Stalin that granted Russia special rights in Manchuria and recognition of (Outer) Mongolia’s independence. Would Mongolia have become larger if Chang Kai-Shek refused the demands of Stalin?
