Women’s suffrage loses

Bermuda, March 28 –
A petition to permit women’s suffrage was defeated, 16–15, in the House Assembly last night after one opponent argued that woman had been a subject to man since Adam was created. The legislator said:

Eve was sent to help and take orders from him.
