Why did British forces leave Spitsbergen after operation Gauntlet? With a strong British Navy they should have been able to prevent a German return tot Spitsbergen.
Could Britain have used Bear Island as a base for providing air cover for convoys to Murmansk?
Would it not have been a boost for Norwegian moral if part of their homeland had been liberated in 1941?
