When was 'peak' of Nazi Germany

Good Day Indie and Team.

Something I’ve tried to ascertain many times in both history books as well as college classes, what date would you consider to be the height of military power of Nazi Germany? Both in territory gained and control of occupied areas? I’ve always thought it was spring of '42, but would like to hear your thoughts. Cheers!

Summer and fall of 1942, specifically before the Battles of Stalingrad and El Alamein. Germany still had swaths of territory in Russia and they were on the verge of pushing into Egypt. The loss of both these battles were crippling blows in their respective theatres and ones they could barely recover from. The biggest thing though is that the German army was still capable and deadly that still had the ability to go on the offensive (and still actually be effective at it) in 1942. The destruction of the 6th Army at Stalingrad created a desperate situation on the Eastern Front, while El Alamein swung the tide in North Africa back to the Allies permanently, paving the way to Italy.
