When the Soviet Army counter-attacked at Stalingrad, did any Romanian Unit do well?

I feel like this is a good question because people often reduce the Italian and Romanian troops down to place holders when referring to them but I believe it’s highly unfair to assume that they were of poor competency. It’s hard to look good next to the germans combat wise

Romanian troop weren’t well supplied with the equipment as promised by the Germans but this is a case spread too thinly with weight numbers the Italian would be the same as Italian had troubles supply there own troops

Good point, I don’t think the Germans would have done better had they been spread as thinly. Like the massive post of our Turkish friend pointed out tank crew was ordered out of their tanks and played infantry and there was no reasonable mobile defense.

My question would be did no one on the Axis side pointed out the linguini spined flanks of operation Stalingrad. Protecting the flanks by a good in depth and/or mobile defense should have been obvious. (As well as preparing for the cold Russian weather!)

That mistake was the result of the German High Command total hubris not the Rumanians.

OK, here is an example of a very brave Rumanian unit. I have an ex-girlfriend who is from Transylvania and was in the Rumanian Army so in her honour.
