Hi Indy and Co.
What were the conditions of troops stationed on the Franco-German border in Alsace Lorraine before the fighting really picked up? I assume trenches were dug and positions taken but how close were the Allies and Axis troops from one another and if they were even slightly close how was there so little infantry combat going on for nearly an entire year.
