In December of 1940, the German Kreigsmarine operated the auxiliary cruisers Orion and Komet in the German Attacks in Nauru in the South Pacific. These cruisers sunk 5 merchant ships and caused damage to phosphate loading facilities. The Orion was sunk in 1945 and the Komet was sunk in 1942. Did these German attacks cause any major response from the Allies to protecting the South Pacific from the Axis Powers? What was the extent of the German forces (either Wehrmacht or Kreigsmarine) in the war in the Pacific? Keep up the great work Indy and team!
