Whenever I watch a documentary or read a book on WWII, there is not much discussion of the Asian theatre until late 1941. So I have always wondered what happened militarily in China throughout 1941. Did the conflict devolve into WWI-style trench warfare? Minor skirmishes with minimal territory gained/lost by all sides? Perhaps the historical documentation is lacking in this regard?
