Dr. Norman Bethune a Canadian and a communist was the pioneer of mobile blood transfusions which he perfected during the Spanish civil war. After that war he ended up in China where he was revered as a hero and supposedly you can find statues of him throughout China for his work and his love of China. I know he pioneered several more techniques for field medicine but I can’t find any mention of those other than his blood transfusion process does anyone know what else he pioneered in?
