Were Japanese ministers opposing surrender and speaking about victory expecting armed conflict between the Western Allies and the Soviet Union?

Indy Neidell said the whole idea that Japan could win was ridiculous at the first day of August. But there still was a small chance for a Japanese victory and that was the possibility of a conflict between the Western Allies and the Soviet Union.
