War peril stressed in atom bomb race

NEW YORK (UP) – A third World War is in the making if the United States allows an international atomic race to develop, Sen. Charles W. Tobey warned last night.

In an address before a downtown community school meeting, the New Hampshire senator said that he advocated early this year that the United States, Britain and Russia meet to discuss their common danger growing out of the atomic bomb, and “then reason together what to do about it.”

His warning was coupled with a plea that the United States and Russia get together in a revival of common honesty and integrity.
