I believe that Rudolfo Graziani was put on trial in 1948 by the UN for the use of chemical weapons in Ethiopia during the Abyssinia Crisis and collaboration with the Germans after Italy surrendered. But was not jailed because Ethiopia was forced to stop pressing for the trial as the Italian Press was firmly against the tribunal of an Italian Officer for war crimes. He was sentenced to 19 years in prison for collaborating with the Germans, but was pardoned after serving only four months in prison because his lawyers said he had “received orders”.
