U.S. CLOSES EXITS TO DUCE’S SUBJECTS

Washington, June 23 (UP) –
The United States today ordered all border exits closed to Italian nationals until further notice.

The Justice Department ordered immigration and border patrol officers to prevent Italians from leaving the country, while the Treasury Department issued similar instructions to customs officials.

The action was taken to prevent Italians from leaving the country with an excess of funds. Italian and German holdings in the United States recently were frozen by President Roosevelt.
