This may have been asked/answered before so if so let me know. But out of all the terrible Nazi’s who was the worst of the worst?
The cruelest, most demented, sick/perverted Nazi members or spouses. I know some can be found just with google but I’m sure google is missing a bit
I think it is impossible to single one person out. What I found most scaring is that Berlin was one of Europe´s most tolerant and creative cities before the war, and the whole country slided into the dark within a few years where the unthinkable became the new normal.
The lessons from history must be that we should carefully reflect on how this could happend, and react on any sign that things are moving in the wrong direction.
Also that we all have the responsiblity to speak up, and not just wait for anybody else to deal with unpleasent things…
I know! It’s crazy how quickly Germany flipped. Suffrage for men and women. Active and pretty open LGBT scene. Legal abortions and divorce. Open education for men and women
Very liberal place
For social conservatives, this is one of the strongest arguments against liberal society. While the society tolerates wider and wider social experiments, it becomes less cohesive almost by definition and when outside forces begin to repress, without that cohesion the resistance is fractured, weak, and incapable of defending itself. I don’t subscribe to this fully, but I can see why they feel this is true.
I am pretty sure you know this the Dirlewanger Brigade and Oskar Dirlewanger come to mind. This is so bad that even the SS were like “woah woah back it up a notch”.
