Here’s a question: just when did the term ‘blitz’ make its way into American Football from WW2? The Wikipedia article, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blitz_(gridiron_football)#History, is insufficiently sourced and the authors misinterpret the sources they’re citing as the newspaper article cited (https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1955&dat=19791230&id=zZ8tAAAAIBAJ&sjid=_6AFAAAAIBAJ&pg=5956,5162639) just mentions the term ‘Red Dog’ and doesn’t establish the term, ‘blitz’.

I’m seeing references to blitz being used in the late '50’s, but not before that
