Kind of a follow up question, but more directed. Iād be curious to learn of how the British did the same thing. The reason is more than once during WWII you see some rather odd attacks- more like WWI en-masse charges vs. alternatives. Seems like there were some lack of creativity in the direction, and it cost a lot of their soldiers.
I could be wrong about that impression- but I really wonder where those high level concepts came from.
