Great Indy and gang.

I have a question for Out of the Foxholes?
What was the situation of Svalbard (Spitsbergen) during the war.

Was it occupied by the British like Iceland or was her situation more like Greenland.
Did the USA also send troops to Svalbard?
Or was the government of the island loyal to Nazi occupied Norway?

Not sure, I know the Tirpitz raided Svalbard in Winter and the Russian mining colony was still there when I visited it in 2009. Great place to visit but watch out for Polar bears as they are extremely aggressive(for which I can’t blame them)
