Spirit of Roosevelt watching, Pepper says
NEW YORK (UP) – Sen. Claude E. Pepper (D-Florida), speaking to a crowd of 2,500 fur workers, today asked them not to “turn your backs” on the late President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
“The spiritual eyes of this great savior and emancipator will be looking inside the ballot boxes tomorrow to see how you mark your ballots,” the senator said.
