Slovak National Uprising - outsider view

This August 75 years have passed since the Slovak National Uprising started in Banská Bystrica (then Slovak state, present day Slovakia). Being Slovak, I mostly know the glorified Slovak version of events, but I am aware that this (as pretty much every)war action led to many atrocities.

So I was wondering what’s the view of the outside world on this event? Is anyone even aware that this happened, or is it just an obscure grain in a see of events of the war?

I myself have never heard of a slovak uprising in 1944.
East central Europe remains a rather obscure area of all times here in the Netherlands.

I wasn’t aware of it either but I’d be more than happy to learn about it. We need more focus on Eastern Europe.
