SEIZED SHIPS GIVEN TO ARMY, U.S. FIRMS

Washington, June 28 (UP) –
The Maritime Commission announced today that eight Danish and one Italian vessel, recently acquired under the Bland Ship Requisitioning Act, have been allocated to American operators and the U.S. Army.

Seven of the Danish vessels, including two tankers, and the one Italian vessel go to private operators and another Danish ship goes to the Army, all under charter arrangements.

These are the first of the 84 immobilized foreign vessels subject to requisition which have been allocated to U.S. Flag Services.
