Segregation of pupils ruled unconstitutional
LOS ANGELES (UP) – Segregation of school children on the basis of race or nationality violates the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, Federal Judge Paul J. McCormick ruled today in ordering an injunction against four Orange County school districts.
The injunction suit was brought by five fathers representing 5,000 children of Mexican descent who wee not permitted to attend Orange County schools where non-Mexican students predominated.
