Rudolf Hess (1894-1987)

Interesting trivia: The British New Wave band Spandau Ballet took their name from a piece of graffiti scrawled on the bathroom wall of a Berlin nightclub. It referred to the rigor mortis the guilty would exhibit after being hanged in the gallows of the prison.

Not related to Hess per se, but adds a pop cultural context to where he was held.

I didn’t know that. Thank you very much.

I’ll always remember what Grandpa said when he learned of Hess’ death: “Good f–king riddance!”
