Révolution nationale and Maurrassime

This’ll be controversial but what do you think about the validity of French generals’ views that the French defeat was due to Popular Front policies? Would a far-right education system have meaningfully benefitted France in the lead-up to the war? I recognise their reaction was largely a deflection but it’s an interesting counterfactual given the gulf between German and French morale in 1939 (or is that more of a myth?).
