I have a question regarding Reinhard Heydrich.
There is no question that the guy was an evil, twisted psychopath but I read (and I have no idea where I read it) that , as part of Heydrich’s duties for the Sicherheitsdienst he compiled, or had compiled, dossiers suggesting that a number of Stalin’s Generals where working with the nazis and had them leaked to the Russians. This is supposed to have been the trigger for Stalin’s purges of the Red Army.
He had compiled similar fabricated dossiers on SA members as incriminating “evidence” before the Night of the Long Knives.
I have heard the idea dismissed as bollocks as Stalin was planning on purging the Red Army anyway and Heydrich’s dossiers were too transparent to be taken seriously.
Believe me, I am NO admirer of Heydrich, I think we can all agree he was scum but I would be interested to hear if there is any evidence for this deception
