Random Date Access in WW2 Day By Day Series

Hi,

I am wondering if there is a way to view the WW2 day by day series in a fashion that allows random access to an arbitrary date.

The two current platforms I can find the day by series, instagram and timeghost.tv, only display the most recent posts and don’t appear to have any mechanism for going back to an arbitrarily old post without manually either scrolling through hundreds of pages.

The only way I can figure it at the moment is by scraping the instagram, although I am hoping there is some officially supported method that provides the content creators with clicks/views/etc…

Best,
Noah

Hey goldstein.w.n,

Sadly, that’s not a feature that we currently have on the day-by-day series. We do also have the series on our community tab on YouTube. Unfortunately, it’s something we can’t implement on our end as we don’t have any control over the way their platforms function in regards to posts, the version we currently have on the website is directly connected with Instagram.

If they ever add such a feature to these platforms you can be sure we’d update things on our end to support that.

Hope that answers your question. All the best!

Hi Jake,

Thanks for the information. I ended up scraping IG and have a JSON for all dates with associated text/media. I also have it as a single HTML file / PDF. If you want to host that I’m happy to upload. Otherwise I will keep for personal use.

Best,
Noah
