Poll: New Yorkers vote against 7–3 against war (7-15-41)

NEW YORKERS VOTE 7–3 AGAINST WAR

New York, July 15 (UP) –
The New York Daily News reported today that 70.5% of New York State residents who participated in its poll on American entrance into the war opposed such participation.

Shall the United States enter the war to help Britain defeat Hitler?

Yes… 29.5% (51,507)
No… 70.5% (122,802)

The News also reported that:

Illinois voted close to 4–1 against war in a poll conducted by the Chicago Tribune coincident with the poll in New York.

I guess the Japanese and German Goverments outvoted them by 2 vs the 70% :wink:
