I had 4 great-uncles in WW2, all brothers. One of them was part of Patton’s 3rd Army & he was a machine gunner on a halftrack. He personally experienced liberating a concentration camp, we don’t know which one. Have you uncovered any information on Patton’s 3rd Army liberating a concentration camp & which one would that’ve been?

Could’ve been Buchenwald, Mauthausen (Gusen) or Ohrdruf for your granduncle. My grandfather participated in the liberation of Ohrdruf.
