Over the past several weeks on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and other platforms I’ve seen an increase of topics from WW1 & 2, Vietnam and Afghanistan and Iraq wars where actual events are altered to make one actor look better than they actually were. Unfortunately most of the content is directed towards individuals in the American military, with lesser accounts coming from GB, Germany, Japan and the USSR.
several of these show Patton being sympathetic towards the Black people and showed compassion to blacks in general. The reality is Patton didn’t care the colour of the skin if you could shoot then he’d make you shoot and while he had praise for black regiments he still shared the views of the time of blacks in general and was quite racist towards blacks and minorities.
Another was Audie Murphy who was the most decorated American soldier in WW2 several instagrams posts have shown him as a coward and made up the stories he was made famous for.
Several accounts on YouTube and TikTok have shown that if it weren’t for the Americans solely responsible for the landing success at Dday and that the British played a very small part in the operation.
The Japanese unit 731 apparantly never existed and was a fabrication by the US government to hide the truth of American bombing of civilians in Japan.

It’s sad to see that instances like this are skewing history and many of these show younger generations are too willing to believe in these posts and ignoring the real history of war.
