My connection to D-Day

Here is Hugh D Norton, my great grandfather who served in the Big Red One during the first wave on Omaha Beach. He also participated in the Liberation of Paris and the battle of the Bulge. He received several combat medals and ended the war as a Captain. Post war, he would join the Army Air Corps and become a dentist posted to Elgin Air Force Base. He passed away in August 2010 at the age of 91.

Wow, great story. The Big Red One had a really hard time there. The docu did a really good job to describe Omaha and the differences with the popular flicks. (not to criticize the flicks as there is only so much you can do with a movie )
