Much is said about German armor and mechanized tactics in the Fall of France. But, what effect did their infantry tactics have?

German Blitzkrieg tactics are more impressive to an outside observer but, the German tacitc of organizing infantry units around the deployment of machine guns is standard for many of the world’s armed forces today. How did the attitude of the German armed forces towards machine guns and infantry tactics in general compare to that of the Allies?
