Magyar suicides rise

Suicide in Hungary is on the increase, and the pro-government newspaper, Pester Lloyd, listing 1,006 such deaths in the first six months this year, characterized the victims as pessimists.

Pester Lloyd was a prominent, german language newspaper in the XIX. century. It ceased publication in 1945, after the Soviet invasion.
There is no data in the records of Office of Central Statistics regarding the number of suicides of 1942. One may can find the diagram here, on the 2nd page, top left (2. Γ‘bra) showing the number of commited suicides rate on 100 thousand people:
