JUSTICE DEPARTMENT GETS ANTI-NEGRO COMPLAINTS
Washington, Jan. 4 –
The Justice Department has received complaints charging discrimination against Negroes in Memphis. Ugo Carusi, executive assistant to Attorney General Jackson said:
We’re considering what action to take.
Recent dispatches from Memphis told of police picketing a Negro drugstore after its owner had sponsored a Willkie rally.
