In school I learned the Mont Blanc was the highest mountain in Europe? Not Elbrus

Hi,
Am I the only European who learned that the Mont Blanc was the highest mountain in Europe. Never heard of Elbrus before TG.

Not sure now why I had to answer that on exams here in The 2 dimensional Netherlands were we are the fastest in reaching the summit . (If we don’t trip over it )

I also learn in school that the Mont Blanc was the highest mountain in Europe. And it’s not only in school, it’s a “general knowledge”, I’m a french Belgian speaker, so France as a big influence on my education and culture, and I really heard a lot of stuff about the Mont Blanc etc. Never heard of Mont Elbrus before the WWII Episode of some months ago.
But I’m not that surprised, It’s not like we are learning a lot of stuff in school and general about the eastern part of Europe…
