In around march or so the Allies withdrew from Burma and such, but it's been a very long time since we heard about the fighting in China itself. Did the fighting between the Nationalists, communists and the Japanese just stall?

This is a part of the war that I know little about, so it has a bigger interest to me. Thanks in advance.

From the news articles I have been collecting to transcribe, it seems that there was still fighting in not only Southern China, but also U.S. warplane activity against important Japanese targets in China and Indochina.

From September 26, for example:

On Tuesday, the communiqué announced, a task force of American fighter planes attacked Japanese truck columns totaling 30 vehicles on the Lungling-Teng Yueh Road in southwest Yunnan Province. Between 12 and 20 trucks were destroyed.
