I served in the US army 10th mountain division on 4 deployments totaling 48 months of combat in iraq and Afghanistan. Once you’re at that timeline (about a year out) I’d love to see a break down of their crucial involvement in breaking the italian front on riva ridge and po valley after numerous failures by other units. Hindsight… the units that fought at kiska and attu later formed the 10th mountain division. The italuan campaign gets lost after D-day but was highly crucial to european success.
