Icelandic regime quits; rising costs blamed
Reykjavík, Iceland, Oct. 23 (UP) –
Disagreement over means of preventing further rises in living costs and salaries and other problems caused by American and British occupation was blamed today for the resignation of the Icelandic government.
Hermann Jónasson, who had been premier for seven years, handed his resignation to the regent, who said he would announce later whether it was accepted.
