I read somewhere that the Kachins in Burma were the most successful guerilla group ever organized by OSS. Can you talk about how Aung San and the Burma Independence Army siding with Japan exacerbated the ethnic tensions in Burma?

I read somewhere that the Kachins in Burma were the most successful guerilla group ever organized by OSS and part of that was that the Bama people in Burma had sided with Japan. As a result, the allies armed ethnic groups on the periphery of Burma such as the Karens, the Kachins, and the Rakhines. After the war was over, these groups were still armed, organized and suspicious of the government. I was wondering if that was something that the Allies foresaw.
