How were the massive casualties of Barbarossa received in Germany? Were they even reported?
Honestly, I can’t speak to that. But I can imagine. For non-Communists still under the illusion that Hitler was better than Stalin, they would grin and bear it. The Communist system is so evil and been neck deep in atrocities since 1917 that almost any price would be bargain to see it destroyed. They would see Bolshevism the way we see the Nazis today and for good reason. Because even at this moment, the Nazis still hold a less low point in the barrel of human depravity, both in utter cruelty and body count. And most of that is unknown at this point, although most people could see the trajectory if they could handle their souls being crushed.
I imagine for most Germans who support he war in any way, this isn’t about race or lebensraum, though those factors might exacerbate the situation. This is about a movement that has TWICE tried to destroy Germany, so do whatever takes, kill it with fire, just make sure it’s GONE.
