Hello Indy, hope you’re feeling well , in 1941 there was the famous Destroyers for bases deal done between USA and Britain in which Britain turned over to the Americans several basis the Caribbean and Argentia Newfoundland , Britton got 50 of the old 4 Piper flush deck Destroyers from World War 1 in trade Canada ended up I believe with six of them my dad served as a signalmen on hmcs Annapolis formerly USS McKenzie I remember dad telling me I’m top-heavy they were and how they would roll when it was rough. how effective did they turn out to be? many of them have been tied up for 20 years although I suppose they’re better than what they had which was nothing how much work did it take can make them see where they
