Here is a very good, but unknown film about WW2 end. It is called Vent d’est (wind from the east) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108480/ it was made in the 90s by France and Switzerland. Malcolm McDowell plays the role of General Smyslovsky. the film is about the 1st Russian army that surrendered to Lichtenstine and Lichtenstein did not permit soviet to murder soldiers and families of this army. this film is forbidden in modern-day Russia and Belarus.
