Hitler’s body hard to fake

Physical peculiarities cited by doctor

LANSDOWNE, Pennsylvania (UP) – Dr. Robert M. W. Kempner, chief legal adviser of the pre-Hitler German police, revealed today that the Nazi leader had certain physical characteristics which would establish positive identification of his body.

Dr. Kempner, now an American citizen, said he studied Hitler’s physical peculiarities while investigating the Fuehrer following his arrest in the famous “beer hall putsch.”

Hitler had an abnormally long right thumb, Dr. Kempner said, and his right ear was much more pointed than his left. He said the Nazi dictator’s shoulders were habitually stooped, and that although Hitler tried to correct this condition in public appearances, the bone structure would reveal the stoop.

Dr. Kempner said a complete identification file, including fingerprints, was kept on Hitler on Landsberg fortress in Bavaria during his imprisonment there in 1924. The fortress was captured recently by the Americans.

He said he had turned over to federal authorities the name of a Berlin physician who could make positive identification. Since his arrival in this country to escape Nazism in 1939, Dr. Kempner has been engaged in scientific police work in Philadelphia.
