Question for OotF: Do we have any information of German foreigners living in Japan at that time? If yes how where they received by the Japanese and did some contribute to the war effort? Also, same question for Japanese foreigners living in Germany. I at least know that in 1904 was the founding of the “German School of Tokyo Yohama”.

Hi Sebastian, interesting question!
I am sure there were Germans in Japan and vice versa, solely because they had embassies. Also I know that in Japanese occupied Shanghai there was a German community, largely traders and industrial companies, actually, some of them were resistant towards the Nazi’s and spied for the Allies. (I see a possible new episode for Astrid ) During the last months of the war, Germany tried to get technology and scientists to Japan by U-boat to build their Wunderwaffen

As if Indy was spiritually connected, I am now actually watching his special on The Western Warlords of Asian Armies-WW2 Gallery 004…you may find it very interesting, coinciding with your topic
