Fulton J Sheen effect on the war participants: in 1940-41 Bp. Fulton Sheen recorded weekly broadcasts for the Natl Council Catholic Men later published by them in booklet War & Guilt. What impact did this have on high & lower level war participants?

The book has been republished by TAN publishers in 2023, and excoriates all sides for the moral rot and atheistic attitudes that created the circumstances for the war.

Outside the US - none. Inside the US, it might have had some effect, but after Pearl Harbor - none.

He referred to Hitler as an example of the workings of the “Anti-Christ”. He wrote a prayer book for soldiers during the war, from my (brief) readings, he saw the war as a war against godlessness - he preached that even a soldier must not hate his enemy (which probably didn’t survive seeing the first friendly casualty.)
