SOLDIERS’ FOOD TOTAL BECOMES IMPRESSIVE

Fort Bragg, N.C. –
Foodstuffs consumed by the 20,000 troops already stationed at Fort Bragg are running into impressive totals.

Each week the soldiers consume 91,000 one-pound loaves of bread, 12,500 pounds of butter, 12,000 dozen eggs and 120,000 potatoes. Beside these, mess officers report, 133,000 half-pint bottles of milk and 50,000 pounds of beef quarters are eaten by the men who man the world’s largest artillery training center. These totals will be more than tripled when the post reaches the strength of 66,000 men.
