Why was Frank Sinatra specifically ruled ineligible for military service? Sinatra was the most recognizable male musical star of his day, so it’s very interesting that the military didn’t want him. Officially, the military said he had a perforated eardrum, but it turned out that it privately really said there were psychological reasons to reject him, but this doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Sinatra was the face of that generation.
