Finnish trench warfare period constructions

In Finnish these are almost invariably called ‘korsu’ - which kind of means a ‘dugout’ or ‘shelter’ - it is not exactly the same but close enough hopefully. Though ‘korsu’ is more of a shelter which may be fully underground, or partially above the ground.

So… Let’s start with a highlight reel (pun intended) of a dugout movie theater. Archive marks it as having been located at ‘Saravaara’ (located at the front line near Medvezhyegorsk)

Few images which are marked as having been taken from the ‘korsu village’ of the HQ of the 6th Corps (VI AKE:n korsukylä). So probably not exactly on the frontline… Image are noted as having been taken at Nurmoila on 1942.02.20

Finnish battalion command post - marked as been located just 300 m from the frontlines. Location: Rukajärvi, picture taken 1942.03.22

Korsu contests were occasionally arranged -

Other sections which might be interest: Uutulinna pictures (80317 - 80324), Pajari’s command post (111172 - 111175)

Of course these are the exceptions and not the rule but still… what do you think of these?
